Protecting ones privacy while surfing the web is gaining more and more importance and concerns regarding internet privacy and data security are increasing. Privacy-Enhancing Technologies, informing about hidden trackers and services, that try to collect data in the background, can provide users awareness and help to gain control. These tools usually provide information visually and thus are barely accessible for blind and visually impaired users. But protecting ones privacy on the web has to be possible for all users.
BlindFaith has two goals:
- Providing accessible interaction designs and guidelines, to support web developers in the development of accessible tools.
- Develop informational and educational material regarding internet privacy, to enhance the media competence of our target group of blind and visually impaired users.
The following video shows an overview of the project goals (in German language).
The projects outcomes and results will be available on this website and moreover on the website of the Hilfsgemeinschaft. Thus the results will be available for free for web developers and visually impaired users. All materials will be released under creative commons license “Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Austria”.
